Samsung coming Australian iPhone Injunction Hearing in March
Samsung attempts to sales of the iPhone in Australia 4S block moves forward and will go before the judge the case sometime in March. The electronics maker hopes to stop the sales of the newest combo of iPod media players and smartphones as part of its ongoing patent infringement battle with Apple.
"The case for a hearing to be fixed for three weeks beginning in March 2012 set the date on Friday," said Judge Annabelle Bennett, according to Reuters. She is not imposing restrictions on iPhone sales ahead of the 4S trial.
Apple and Samsung have been locked in a dispute over patent infringement claims for several months. Both companies have claimed that the use of other mobile devices, patented technologies without proper licensing and have lawsuits against one another in the U.S. and elsewhere.
A German court upheld a preliminary injunction the sale of Samsung's Galaxy Table 10.1 tablet blocks in the country, and the company appealed, in the hope of overturning that verdict. Apple was also an injunction by a Dutch court blocked the sale of some Galaxy devices in the European Union awarded, together with the current preliminary injunction blocking the sale of the Galaxy Table 10.1 tablet in Australia.
Samsung has also managed to convince the court in which Australia, there are parts of Apple's contracts with access cell service in the country. The judge did not, however, so far, what Samsung have access to the full content of these contracts.
Despite his efforts to block the iPhone 4S sales in Australia, Japan, France and Italy, Samsung is not seeking an injunction to home in South Korea. "We concluded that we get involved in legal battles with Apple, only in the global market, but not to win more market share in Korea," a Samsung executive said.
Apple has not commented on claims in Australia Samsung.
